Curriculum Vitae

Daniel Ballesteros Chávez is an Assistant Professor at Poznań University of Technology (PUT).

He graduated as a mathematician from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN, 2011) in Mexico and completed his masters at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM, 2013).

He worked at the National Statistics Office in Mexico on several projects related to the measurement of crime and the assessment of services provided by the government.

As data analyst for the National Crime Victimisation Survey, he participated in estimating the sample size for multi-stage probabilistic surveys, supervising field work interviews, validating the information collected in the database, computing the estimators and their variance for totals and means of the target population, and presenting the results in different formats.

From these experiences, he has maintained his interest in the application of mathematics, statistics, computer sciences and programming in social sciences and other disciplines.

After completing his PhD at Durham University (2020), he continues his research in mathematics, gives lectures at the European New School of Digital Studies (ENS) on computer sciences and data analysis, and engages in multi-disciplinary projects.
