Laura Meyer is a PhD researcher working at the intersection of International Relations and Science and Technology Studies. Her main interest lies on digital infrastructures and technical standardization, examining how they constitute and condition global power dynamics, as well as how actors can influence these dynamics through processes of infrastructuring. Within this context, her research centres on the European Union’s digital policies, particularly those aimed at strengthening and achieving digital sovereignty. During her PhD, she spent time as a visiting scholar at Georgetown University Washington, DC. Besides her academic career, she gained experience in public policy, including the German Federal Foreign Office and the German Federal Parliament.
