Chair for Sociology of Technology
The chair for Sociology of Technology is home of the Science & Technology Studies Group at ENS. The group’s research focuses on three larger areas: Infrastructuring Digital Europe, Co-Creation und Critical Prototyping and Digital and Inventive Methods.
This includes the questions of how to build digital infrastructures based on public value, organize software engineering as a responsible social practice, as well as how to integrate arts and critical design in order to change the way digital technologies are developed and understood. Based on a strong background in Sociology and Cultural Studies, the team engages in inter- and transdisciplinary projects with partners from Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Political Science, Philosophy and History, as well as actors from politics, civil society and the arts.
